Alternative Options for Wheels

So I’m balls deep in my ‘88 SAS build and the day came to mount my tires and wheels. I ended up going with 37x12.50x17 BFG MTs on a TRD Pro replica wheel. I went with the replicas since I could get them in 8” wide and a slightly negative offset. Put the backs on first and they looked great. However the replicas are bored the correct diameter however they use slightly different style centercap. On the very outer edge there is a lip to catch the center cap which is roughly 83mm ID. The OD of the manual hubs is 90mm. At first I thought I could machine down the OD of the hubs but it will interfere too much with the bolt holes for the dials. I can machine the lip off on the rim but then I won’t be able to rotate the tires, which Isn’t the end of the world I guess. Just wondering if there’s any other options I’m not thinking of you all might be able to come up with.

Well I don't want to be Mr Dumbass, but have have you thought about getting rims that fit the hubs?

Valid question but the rims are spec’d to be 106.1mm bore, however they are not fully bored the whole way through the wheel. The more I looked into it the more the rims won’t work. I was ok machining then a little to make the minor OD of the hubs work since the lip for the center caps brought the ID of the bore down to 83mm where the hub dial is 90mm. But the amount of material that would be removed to clear the major OD of the hubs would compromise the integrity of the wheel. On paper the rims should have worked but they don’t. The 106.1mm bore isn’t full depth of the wheel, just the first 15mm of the backside. They would work on a Tacoma but not a pre 95 pickup. The OEM wheels for modern Tacoma’s will fit though with no machining since they are bored all the way through the full depth of 106.1mm, have a set of TRD Pros in gloss gunmetal on the way now. Just venting at this point, I don’t think there’s anything I can do. I spent most of today trying to come up with something that would work.
