Arrow Air Intake Ducting?

I have a 1994 22re 4wd Pickup and I just got a new K&N filtercharger.

Im trying to decide whether to get new, thicker Spectre Intake Ducting to replace the stock ducting, which seems to be pretty restrictive. I just want to get opinions and maybe advice for alternatives. Thanks

I use the spectre tubing stuff you find at autozone. Works fine so far. Stretches from the air box to the throttle body. Havent had any issues with it leaking yet.

There's no HP gains from this. I only have it because I was doing the intake/battery swap (which I have yet to do).

I do have issues with the truck running when it's really hot out, it feels like there's no power to the engine (do a search, I started a thread on it.) People have suggested it may be hot air getting to the engine. How air doesnt compress as well as colder air (not as dense). So I dont know if this is caused by the spectre tubing or what.

I don't think I would make the volume between the AFM and TB bigger only smaller. Bigger will throw the ECU off in the "less power" direction. Going smaller (shorter) would be fine though. Just a thought..........

but if the mass airflow meter is placed in front of the ducting, wouldnt the ecu deliver the same amount of fuel to the engine?
