Hey, I've recently put a system on my 92 pickup from an old 90 pickup and everything went on fine and hooked up with no problems. BUT when I went to put my gauges on the compressor, they wouldn't fit!! The diameter is right because I had to buy these quick connect adapters that screwed onto the valves for each section. But with the quick connect adapters, the one on the right in the picture is too tall and doesn't let me get the hoses quick connect adapter on right to lock it in place.

What can I do??

Dude, I'm sorry but your drawing is not working. Can you take some pics and post them ? Was the system you installed originally an R-12. Should have been since it came from a 1990. If so, then you installed R-134 adapters onto the R-12 fittings on the compressor. Which gauge line are you having trouble connecting; red ( high pressure) or blue (low pressure) ?

 

I had the same issue so I bought a 90 degree adapter that screws on the original so it points forward. so far its working out. I got the adapter at autozone

 

That is by the far the worse drawing ever.

 

from the picture you can see its the blue line I'm having problems with. The 1990 pickup had the system updated to r134a fittings on the compressor. The quick connect adapter hits the bottom section of the EFI and won't fit onto the compressor threads.

Yea i think thats the one, then i put the adapter on that part ane i can get my hose on it.
