Advice for EFI codes

Hi all. Recently acquired an 89 4R, 22re with a locked motor. Found a replacement, and have installed it. The engine runs sluggishly, stumbles upon acceleration, smells very rich. I get codes 22, 24, 31, 41, and 51. Do need to start out going through the checks for every circuit and sensor, or does anyone have another suggestion. I have looked many times, but can find no wires or hoses not connected. The engine was from a 91 truck, 22re, and I used the 4R plenum with the 91 truck intake and injectors.
Any help steering me in the right direction would be very much appreciated.
Thanks
Rod

Look for common sensors/circuits in the codes:
http://www.off-road.com/toyota/tech/codes/index.html

Then on the straight forward codes, check out the sensor(s) indicated and see what you find. For example:
