Alright guys I need some advice on what to do and how easy it is. I want to add a tach and voltmeter and maybe a oil pressure gauge. I was thinking of buying the little circle gauges and putting those in, but not sure how easy that is. Also thought about swapping out the gauge cluster to an SR5 one, that already has all that and wiring it up. I have a 91 DLX Pickup. Anyone able to help me out with what's easier/best way to go?
in my 87 i swapped the sending unit to the sr5 part number and pulled a junkyard cluster. i had to run a wire for the tach but its not hard. only goofy part with 91's are you may have mechanical speedo or electric. buy a mechanical sr5 speedo cluster and if your truck has electric you can buy an adapter to make it work. happy swapping.
Each to his own, but if you want to go super-geek (like JennyGirl) try this: https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f116/mpguino-283777/
Tach, voltmeter ... and fuel used, mpg, speed, just about everything you'd want to know! I've got one, and it's the Cat's Meow!
