Adding leafs?
hey guys, i see that my 92 pickup is starting to sag a tiny bit, and id like it to look and ride a bit higher, i have a set of leafs off of my other parts truck, would i be able to just slip more leafs in each side to get it higher? and if so how would i do that? thanks
ive done a bit of research but cant seem to find anything on adding other leafs from another truck, exact model etc.

what year is the parts truck? I say just swap the entire leaf packs over... would be much easier; assuming the ones off the donor truck are in decent shape.

ya their in good shape, its one year newer than mine, mines a 92, parts truck is a 93. the only thing is the bushings, i caught 2 on fire when i torched the springs off the parts truck lol, could i slip in the bushings off my truck into the newer springs? my truck isnt sagging to say so, i would like the back to sit a bit higher than the front, but i think its come down a bit, i couldnt just add a leaf or 2 in the middle of both sides? thanks for ur help.

This is a thread I started on and about my truck. If you scroll down I have some pics of my truck that im working on (blue) and a parts truck (white).
The blue truck are the pics out side and it has had a leaf added to the front and rear from something. It was that way when I got the truck and the previous owner bought it that way as well. Some where in their it says that someone has added it and can tell because one of the leafs is a straight cut end and not tappered.
Doing some meassuring I came up with that just by adding that one leaf front and back (from some vehicle) that the truck sits 1.5-2.5" higher then it would with out them.

Idn...can you add to many?
Like what if I wanted to add another to mine, is that impossible or un safe?
Would it lift it more then just the thickness of the leaf?
Would you have to modify or change any steering or sway componants?
Ride dosent matter to me.... Sorry, not trying to jack your thread.

You can swap leafs over and get a bit more height....and a stronger pack, even...but, have you considered some longer shackles? That would be way easier.
Oh, and as far as how many leafs you can add depends on how long your u-bolts are. I have one extra leaf on each side of the rear of my '86 and the stock u-bolts are about maxed out.
