My 86 4Runner doesn`t have cruise control, but i would like to add it if possible, are the electrical connections that are needed already there under the dash ?, my 4Runner isn`t here or i would go and look instead of asking here.

Have you tried searching?

There are a few threads on this but I can't remember which years/engines.

I searched using "adding cruise control" and found these...

I have not read them but I bet there is some info in there that could help you.

When i did my search i did actually read those two links, but there is no information on adding cruise control to a vehicle that doesn`t have it. Such as wiring or whats needed to hook it up.

Well hopefully somebody will chime in - I could have sworn there was a thread on here about it.
Knowing my memory though, that was like 5 years ago or it never actually existed.

This is info from adding an AC but IIRC the adding CC thread said similar things....

The plugs and wires are in the trucks main wire loom, the controller part, on/off, set, resume , coast, excell, either on the wheel on the little "turn signal" type will need to be added.

From looking under my hood....
There is a an extra throttle wire and thus a different throttle cable to throttle body attachment bracket.

One will need a CC VSV and a few feet of vacuum line.

The main CC computer control brain is under the drivers side kick panel and on mine at least, it appears to be an easy ADD to a car w/ out CC.

I would attempt to get the same year donor parts, as w/ my AC the plugs had changed 1/2 way through 1994.... the AC has an 8 pin and the truck a 10 pin....

I have some soldering to do:cry
