acceleration prob.. help please

Been restoring a 95 3.0 toyota 4 runner for the past year and have run into a prob that i cant seem to fix or find. When i try to accelerate it does fine till i get up on the rpms and then the engine lite comes on and i lose all power.
Any help would be great thanks

Check the distributor coils per the FSM. if it fails I hear richPorter brand is good.
