A43D transmission 2wd prerunner

I am trying to replace my transmission filter but there are the metal tube going over the filter. How do I remove the metal tubes, are they just press fit? Do I just pry it down enough to get the space to slide out the old filter? And if so, do I just reset the tubes with a light plastic mallet?

Context, the truck started making a whining noise when in drive, I do not hear it in park so I believe it's coming from the tranny. I am just replacing the filter and the fluid that came out to see if it helps at all, the truck at 230k and its the farm truck so I figured why not start by changing the fluid.
