A340h solenoid replacement

Wanna tackle this job, doesn't seem that bad, just have a question regarding the parts. I'm looking for a kit for the 3 solenoids, filter, and gasket. I actually found one on amazon but it says it's for the a340 in 85 and up jeep Cherokees, it doesn't specifically name the "h", it just says a340. I was wondering if this would work or if anyone would know where I could pick up a kit that would work. I've included the amazon link, thanks.

If that is a true stock photo, the filter is the wrong filter. When I did mine I had to purchase the solenoids as a kit and then the filter. There is a guy on eBay called "Motor City Trans Parts" that I purchased mine from and am happy with them so far. They have a smaller solenoid body, but are the proper part. The filter and gasket are like 20 buck, so it isn't to bad. Hope that helps, and here is the link.

Thanks for the info, in the eBay link it says it's for the A340E-F, you sure this will work in the H? Might be a noob question haha, thanks!

"Fitment" charts usually work with the year of the vehicle. With enough work, you could figure out which year vehicles used the A340H, and then translate the fitment charts.

Personally, I start with a dealer site to get the actual part numbers I'm looking for. Try: http://www.toyotapartsoverstock.com/ Then, if I don't want an OEM part I'll look for an after-market reseller who will give me the part number he claims his parts replace.

I note that the eBay listings don't give the part numbers they claim they are replacing. The more recent one has a "compatibility" tool where you can put in your make/year/model. That one claims it fits my truck (which has an A340H), BUT it warns it won't fit a "4 solenoid model" (which IS an A340H).

I suppose you might get really, really lucky and find someone on this forum who has purchased the exact eBay item you're looking at, and can tell you reliably that it fits or doesn't. Good luck with that. Otherwise, you have some simple homework ahead of you.

For future Yotatech'ers, I just replaced the solenoids with the ones purchased from this eBay seller, they aren't the exact same size but the bolt holes matched up and they work flawlessly, shifts very smooth now. I ended up using the Toyota fipg for sealing the pan, that stuff is awesome to work with and sealed it up great. Thanks to all who helped me through this.
