98-04 All Pro Expedition Leafs on 1st Gen?

Gents,

I am new to the 1st Gens but not to Toyotas. I started with a 3d gen T4R then recently picked up an 02 Taco and started the mild build but the truck was totaled. I put some All Pro Expedition springs on the truck. I have since picked up a very clean 1986 4Runner SR5. The rear springs are tired, and the prior-owner cranked the Torsion Bars, so the front sits high. Since the rear sags noticeably and the thing gets 102931203 times worse under load, I've been thinking about picking up a ton of parts of the 02 Taco from the junk yard. If my math serves me correct and when referencing the AP website, the stock springs AND All Pro springs are 53 inches eye to eye with the axle mounting point 24 inches from the front eye. I just measured the current springs under the 1st Gen and they measured 49 inches eye to eye. After reading about the common Chevy 63 swap, I'm curious to see your input about concerns going forward with this. Currently, I believe I shouldn't have any issues with spring width, but only the length. My assumption is running longer shackles will make everything work, but it would probably be safe to mount new rear spring mounts and/or front spring mounts. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

On a side note, the 02 Taco had a factory locker and I put on the U-Bolt Flip kit... really thinking about just buying the whole axle, springs and shocks and working to put them on the 1st Gen. Again, any advice is greatly appreciated. In the mean time, I will be continuing to use the "search" option.

Thanks.

buy the whole axle and rob the parts. Pick up some johnny joints to relocate the rear mount points.
