See sticky at the top of this page. for Steering Relay Rod. The 50N is the headgasket I believe, not positive though. Try a search.

Yes!!!

You are AWESOME!!! Thanks for posting this, it's exactly correct. I called Toyota (800-331-4331) and they "couldn't find" my VIN...so I called around to some Toyota dealerships, and on the 2nd try I got someone who will do the recall work. They found my VIN...whatever that means. My head gaskets blew about 5 weeks ago going on a camping trip, and I didn't know what I was going to do. Now, I'm getting $2K worth of work done for free, and I talked to the service guy about a replacement engine, if there was enough damage caused, and he said as long as Toyota agrees to pay for it, no problem! We'll see what happens! Thanks again!!!

dont let them sucker you into buying things. you dont have to buy a thing. period. all the work outlined in the recall is free. i have got three recall notices for the same truck in three years. its uhhh curently holding some things so its not drivable. im surpized you just found out about this recall.

and for the record, i have not yet seen one, met a guy with one of these rods broken. as far as im concerened toyota bit the bullet and went way out of the way to issue this recall.
if anyone knows of a cracked relay rod, id like to know about it.

i don't think i had my steering stabilizer changed by Toyota, i looked at mine, it was in bad shape, so i replaced it with a Rancho, and soon a Pro Comp Dual stabilizer. i should have asked Toyota first weither or not it was changed. oh well, to late now.

Belize, the steering stabilizer is not the same thing as the relay rod that the recall was/is for.

We'll see what happens. I dropped it off at the dealership yesterday, and they haven't even started on it yet.

The engine has 182K on it, and probably needs a rebuild anyway...so, worst-case, I'm going to be paying for some new parts. Hopefully Toyota will send the new longblock, though! Talk about pimpin' my ride!

They showed me on the computer that my truck was eligible for the V06 recall - head gaskets. What happens if they get into it and find out it needs all sorts of other stuff...and I don't get the new engine? I don't really want them to put it all back together again only to have to tear it apart to rebuild the damn thing.....but I don't want to get raped by the dealership, either. What do you guys think?

They will fix the engine or put a new one in. Toyota really doesnt mess around with a recall this big. BUT if there is somthing wrong, that needs to be fixed right away, but is not really part of the engine (in my case, an exhaust manifold) you pay for parts, they install for free.

I thought the V06 campaign was over. Correct me if I'm wrong.

As far as I know, toyota will still do the odd recall if it has not been performed yet.
