95 pickup 4cyl struggles

I recently attempted to go camping with my wife in the payson area above the rim, I packed my 95 pickup to the gills and we were off. Now my pickup is a 4cyl 4wd 5spd 2dr, it has a 4inch suspension lift and a 2inch body lift and 33in tires. I had my camper roof rack and sleeping platform loaded up as well as all supplies. About 20 miles outside of payson my radiator blew!! It was 109 that day, but what I'm wanting to know is will my truck make it up there now with a new bigger radiator? Or was all the weight and heat the causing factor? Also the whole way up my truck wouldn't go past 45mph due to the incline.. What can I do to make this better? Remove the lift and tires? Thanks any input is appreciated!!

I suggest you also put a transmission oil cooler, your tranny will also run much cooler, and last longer.

Your engine can't keep the truck up to speed trying to turn those big tires. If you're running 33's you should be looking at 4.88 gears. That will compensate for the larger tires but still keep everything acting as if it were still stock.
