Does it make the noise with hubs locked and 2wd? If you pull the driveshaft it will eliminate it as a cause. I'll bet dollar to donuts that its not the hubs, their such a simple design that their really hard to monkey up.

I say diagnosis the problem and I don't mean by replacing parts till maybe it goes away maybe it don't, thats futard'd.

I Dx'd mine and have narrowed it down to spindle bearings being the most probable cause. https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f116...ctures-100327/ I just got my first and only day off in about 2 weeks so if I'm lucky I might get to lube them today. I went with the PVC set up. I'll let you know if/when I get time too.

 

Ok guys, got some info for you.

I took her out for a spin tonight. The noise only happens when the hubs are locked, and in 4wd! When I unlock the hubs in 4wd and 2wd, there is no strange noises. Also, when this noise is happening there is a grinding noise when braking.

Hopefully you guys can diagnose with this new information, thanks in advance!

hey ltjman i know the exact problem

I been researching the same thing for my pickup, it does it only while locked in (no matter if i'm in 2wd or 4hi/lo, regardless it will make the noise while locked in). i'll give you a link to the forums that helped me.
