Question shock lengths / recommendations for BJ spacers and Downey 2” lift springs?

Ive been running Rancho 9000 9 ways on my 88 for a while. When it gets out of the shop for the head gasket job I want to replace them, I tried to soften up the rear and with only 10,000 miles on this set of shocks I cant turn the dial!!! Do I need longer shocks for my BJ spacers on the front with slightly cranked T bars and Downey 2" rears or can I just order a set of Bilstien HD's and be done with it? Anyone????
