95 4Runner starting problem

For the past couple of days my 95 4runner 3vze didn't want to start unless I turned the key 5 or 6 times really fast. I didn't drive it at all yesterday and I went out today and it started right up. I drove around town, ran a few errands and it started every time I got back in, I was going to take it to the shop on Monday but I don't want to get gouged for a new starter if it's a cheap fix like a solenoid or the contacts. Any ideas or opinions would be appreciated. Thanx, Paul

Where's the solenoid, I just got this truck and I'm not too familiar with it, I don't have a manual yet either
