95 4runner shift issue maybe

I have a 95 4runner and when the truck is at less than normal runner temp the trans seem to stay in 3 gear and once it get to normal temp it shift fine. My question is thissomething toyota did to build heatin the engine faster? or Is it the sign of a problem i need to get looked at? This is my first toyota just trying to put a finger on the quriks.

Totally normal. Gets engine up to operating temps quicker.

Depending on your RPMs and what the temp gauge says. I don't think mine has taken that long but I ALWYS let my truck warm up for at least 5 min so if you don't then it's gonna take you a little longer than I
