94 Throttle Body / Dashpot Question
I was looking at the vacuum lines as I was replacing them and noticed that my dashpot goes right to the throttle body. All of the pics and diagrams I could find online show a short hose that just has a check valve on the end so this didn't look quite right. Anyone know if it is right or if I'm missing stuff or have wrong connections? Thanks!

OK think i figured it out, it's a throttle advance not a dashpot. It was adjusted so it didn't touch the throttle when i bought the truck, probably why it runs crappy until it warms up and they had the screw on top adjusted way out to try to compensate. It still idled low on start and idled high when warmed up. I have it adjusted to about 1250 rpm with the throttle advance out and 875 or so when it is sucked down. I'm waiting for the truck to cool down to see if it works like I think it should while warming up.

I don't know much about the 22re, but that looks like a "throttle opener." http://personal.utulsa.edu/~nathan-b...34throttle.pdf With the engine running, the vacuum pulls the plunger out of the way, and it does nothing. When the engine is shut off and the vacuum drops, the plunger immediately comes out and opens the throttle "a little" to stop dieseling.
It has nothing to do with temperature, warming up, cooling down.

[This is a 3vze, but the dashpot and throttle opener are same components. They are just oriented differently on a 22re.]
Note that the throttle opener has a vacuum line; the dashpot does not.
Which one looks like the one mkultra is asking about?
