I own a 94 pickup extended cab 2wd with the 22re and an automatic transmission. I searched these forums for several hours the other day and found out generally all the info I need on this swap except for one thing. I heard that newer truck 5 speed setups (my body style) will work in older trucks but the hole for the stick must be set back further... will this work in reverse? We have an older pickup in the junk yard out here with probably most of the parts we need in it. I would say it's a later 80's model. Will the swap work, or should we keep searching for a similar style to mine? Thanks.

 

easy solution- break out the sawzall. That is if u even have to in a 2wd. At least u don't have to worry about the 4wd shifter which is to the rear of the trans shifter. It should bolt in but I'd be more worried about the driveshaft length.

 

Yeah that's what I was hoping for. And yea we know we'll probably have to find or order a driveshaft that will fit. But thanks man
