94 No Power anywhere. Not Batt Or Ground

HI All. My CA smog license expired before fuel injection. (mostly). I'm "DFlinstone" on cherokeeforum.com Not exzctly a "nub", but new here.

Tried some searching, of course. First, in a nut-shell, no power anywhere. I double checked/cleaned (Mat's battery connections, clean and shiny. I "knicked", the insulation on the three wires of Bat. Pos, to test for voltage since some of those look suspicious. Ign on, no volt drop. Checked continuity from Bat Neg to both engine and body. Less than an ohm.

This thing is phlat dead! Nothing, no click, no lights, no gauges not anything at all. What stops all current? Pulled and re-pluged the "easy" relays, some number of those "window" fuses, look good. About 5 in what I might call a "PDC" looked good. Mat says he thinks the ones inside are Good.

His 6 month old dog just got bit about bad enough to need to go to the vet. No BS, he could use a hand here.

Good, over 12.7. (he might have had a charger on it before I got there). No click, no nothing. It was hot today, maybe a 12.8 would me normal.

I need to "Hit the Hay" at midnight, or everything goes wonky. I'll be back at 9AM PST. Mat is in a real bind. Much thanks, Don

Shown as "gen" here; one of the "window" fuses. http://personal.utulsa.edu/~nathan-b.../2powersou.pdf

How far do you get 12v? Through to the fuses in Relay Block 2?

OK, yea, (I broke the window off 10 trying to pull it). Those window fuses look good.

I only verified power was going out the three from Bat + and that it was grounding to the frame and engine. Sounds like We need to trace it back. I'll have him start on the #9 I guess?

RESOLVED! Turns out the stock 94 4Runner just has two wires off the bat + post. There were three because it's the wrong battery. His has the pos post inner front, where the correct battery with pos inner rear would not need the splice that waz bad. Apparently the PO found a wire with a crimped "eye" end with two wires and had just taped the bare copper ends to the single, (large white) power wire (eye end), that would reach the correct battery post. Was taped such that it looked almost normal. (to me anyway!) To be clear, where the PO taped the splice to the factory "eye" it has corroded and lost contact.

Anyone with an 87-90 Renix Jeep, catch me on Cherokeeforum we "know things"

I supper appreciate you guys taking the time to point me the right way. For all I knew there was some secret mystery switch or something!

Btw I have a small ocean of pre 75 Celica's and parts if anyone cares.
