My 94 4runner carrying a 22re engine runs for 25 mins then shuts down, after i restart it, it shuts down every 3 to 5 mins. I replaced the igniter, coil,distributer cap, spark plugs, plug wires and the ECT sensor. I've had the ECU tested, no faults there.what could be causing this shut down?

 

How does it run during that first 25 minutes?

 

Hi, parchisi, for the first 25mins the van works fine, no issues at all. By the way, i've also replaced the fuel pump and filter. Could the fuel pressure regulator be causing this?

 

Just where did you get the replacement coil and igniter.

Coils like to quit when they get hot due to them starting to break down

I am thinking maybe one of the relay coils is going bad Circuit Opening Relay or The EFI

When it shuts off is it abrupt like you turned the ignition off or does it just run out of power to it quits??

I would also check the fuse blocks for any loose fuses or arc marks

All your grounds as well the one for the ECU/ECM on the intake manifold.

How is your Battery if the charging system is not working correct the ECM/ECU will shut off if the voltage drops to low.
