94 4 Runner brake seized now truck wont start
Long story short.I have 94 Toyota 4 runner and while I was driving my left rear end brake seized.I was on the highway and my truck didnt want to go anymore due to my brakes. So eventually the truck just dies on the side of the highway. But after this my tuck didnt want to start anymore. When I try to start I here an clicking sound coming from the starter . It wont turn over, but the battery seems to be fine, I even tried to start with the booster and nothing. So the question I wanted to ask is there something about the brakes seizing up , that could kill my starter.I dont think my engine seized up.So im just wondering if anybody has this happen to them before
Thanks

Has the battery been load tested? Probably a dead starter relay/solenoid thats causing the ticking IF the starter relay is fine. A dragging or seized brake wont prevent the car from starting.

So i was able to get under it and see what was going on.First of the wheel cylinders where shot one came apart. Then when i turned the wheel I could see my drive shaft moving and clanking, so it looks like my u joints our bad so that was my grinding sound that I was hearing. The rear brakes looked liked the originals , so im going to change them. The u joints I have to change them as well. But I still dont know why my truck wont turn over. I think it might of locked up my .So how can i check if it has locked up?

Put it in neutral, get a socket that fits the crank pulley bolt and a long breaker bar or ratchet. Try rotating the engine by hand. U can remove the plugs to make it easier if u like...but its just extra work really. Unless ofcourse u have a bore scope, then u can have a look inside the cylinders through the spark plug holes once theyre removed.
Have u pulled the dipstick to check the oil?

Ok. Back to basics...is the vehicle in neutral or park when ur trying to start it? If it is, maybe the inhibitor switch( neutral safety switch) is stuffed? Does it have an immobilizer fitted? Maybe its time to c an auto sparky

So i took off my drive shaft, which seems to be the reason my truck was vibrating and caused my truck to stop. The u joints were shot going to the axle..When I took the drive shaft off I noticed that it damaged a washer right were the nut goes thru, ill post a picture later cause im not very good with the lingo. So now im thinking well my transmission side of the drive shaft should just slide right out.WRONG!!! I pulled and bang on it for over an hour nothing. So is there any problems that would get it stuck in there or do I have to eat my Wheaties and get a bigger hammer. The driveshaft itself doesn't look like its in bad shape except the u joints. I went ahead and tried to turn the engine manually , no bueno. I kind want to let it sit because i put penetrating fluid in the spark plug holes. Also is there a tool that can help me turn it, im worried that im going to brake the crankshaft bolt. Thanks for yalls help
