WILL a 22r 4x4 1985 rear diff work in a 22re 4x4 1992 rear end??
I have an 85 solid axle carbed 22re 4x4 and I want to swap the rear diff from it to a 1992 4x4 22re. Will this work? Are they the same gearing and components?

Yeah...it'll bolt up. But I have no idea if the gears are the same. What are they? If they aren't, then it won't match the front. And there's the ABS thing too. If the 92 doesn't have it, there's nothing to worry about. If it does...there's probably still a way to do it. One way or another...

Anti-lock Braking System
If it's got ABS there'll be some wires connected to the rear axle for ABS sensors. And it'll have a sensor port on the 3rd member.
