thanks in advance for any and all replies. I have 1994 toyota 4x4 3.0L. I dropped a remaned engine in 1,500 miles ago. The truck seems to have a severe lack of power when cold and seems to get somewhat better when at operating temp. I know they are gutless engines to begin with but mine seems a little extreme. other symptoms include lack of throttle response(it will respond,just a little sluggish), when EGR is connected the vehicle bucks when @ low rpm so I have vaccum line unplugged @ EGR and plugged with bolt. And last but not least the idle is a little unstable, nothing extreme but it is constantly hunting around a little, I would say within 50rpm. I have checked ECT,TPS, and changed O2. Any help would be greatly appreciated

 

One, or Both of your cams could be one tooth off. As in cams not properly set.

Yes....this has happened to me and gave me the very same attitude as in your description.
