93 SR5 and Factory Fender Flares ?

Hello Everyone

My lady friend has a 93 SR5 and she was wondering if fender flares were available for that year ( like my 98 Ltd) ? Or does she have to look for aftermarket ? If so, what are good brands to look for ? Sorry , just not up to speed on the 2nd Gen's

Thank You

XJ

I seem to recall some 4runners having factory flares. So they are available...

No metal trimming, just screw them on. I think they come with rivots, but I used #10 self-tapping screws, they work better.

They were available as a factory option, aftermarket bushwacker is a good name but there is a member here who imports some from thailand that are reported to be excellent. Can't recall his name just now but try a search for fender flares, an added bonus is he is from Canada so no import duties/customs hassles... I'll see if I can track down his handle and post it when I do.

90-95 4Runners never came with any option for flares besides the chrome wheel opening moldings. They are often called "flares" but they only stick out 1/2" or so.

With your second gen, you will have to find a quality set of aftermarket flares.

Uhmm. Are you sure about that? I have seen MORE then a few stock 93-95 4runners (usually green) with factory style flares. The sequoia edition (and yes, i did NOT spell the right).

The 93 runner I got my 4.88's had them...

A fellow canadian member on here has them, I can't for the life of me remember his username though....

MIght be different up there in Canada eh. But in the US, those were never an option. And we never got a sequoia edition in the states either.

Yeah! that was is it was the Sequioa edition that had the "factory" flares.
It might have been one of those option kits they installed on the dock though like they used to do with some of those 1gen truck packages.

That member selling the flares was blakegeee... the thread was "Fender Flares 89-95 Pick Up 2 Sizes available". He was last active a few months back that I noticed but may still be around, he was from Oshawa Ont. and Thailand.

You can also get some fenders with 3" flares from toyota fiberglass, also in BC.
