93 4runner muffler and tailpipe replacement.

Hi guys,

Seems like a very easy bit of work to swap out everything downstream of my cat, but I am wondering if anyone has a recommendation for a not-too-pricey muffler that works well with the 3.slow. I don't really care about the sound of it. The flowmaster my truck came with sounded decent, but I also like hearing my engine roar.

This seems to be the only thing shipping in canada upon first glance. Thoughts?

Thanks for the advice.

I have an 88 base pu with 22r and when I my exhaust rebuild, I bought alot of the pieces from OReillys auto parts store and off the internet. I put a flowmaster on it that I got from Amazon and the other pipes from the parts store. It worked out just a few dollars cheaper than having a muffler shop doing it, but the biggest advantage to it is that I was able to purchase the parts when I had the money and install them when I got enough parts to make a difference in the exhaust.
Just my way of doing my exhaust rebuild.

Thanks for the link. I had a read, and didn't really care about the biggest issue: sound.

Went with a stock replacement Borla muffler and pipe. Sounds kinda hollow, but very transparent at any kind of speed. The engine seems to be idling smoother now with a constant back pressure.

Had to sawzall the old pipe assembly into 4 pieces to be able to wiggle those little rubber mounts around. Fun!
