93 4runner differential

I got a 93 4runner with a 7.5 rear diff wanting to know if an 8 inch will fit in the axle hosing

I think you mean you have a 7.5 in the front and a 8" in the rear.

To check ring gear size you would have to pull the 3rd out and measure. If your rear axle is stock it should be a v6 rear 8". What makes you think its a 7.5?

I assumed it was when i had got a pinions seal for an 8" and it was to big and started pouring out then i got the next size down and it stopped

Another way to identify is to look at 3rd housing . Some have more or less "ribs"
On the sides . I don't think they make a 7.5 rear or if they did it would be for a car . Weird

They made a 7.5 rear in the 2wd trucks. If the rear axle is stock is a 8in.

The 4 cyl 8" carrier has a smaller seal and bearing set, But both fit into an 8" axel housing and axels.
