Without further adieu.......the pan, she is off...wahoo!!!!

here's how i did it.

supported the rearmost part of the diff with a bottle jack after jacking the diff up to get it straighter....

a reference pic for me....but let me tell ya....you cannot get a socket on these...and being that i only have one 14mm wrench easy found, this was a pain in the ass...too far under the truck to push or pull the wrench with enough leverage to do anything....I did the old "donkey press" with my foot while straddling a jack stand...not the most comfortable thing and definitely was worried about pulling the truck over on top of me...by as evidenced by me writing this, nothing bad happened (except a smashed finger...i only cried a little)

driveshaft off and out of the way.....

and SHAZAAM........

look at all the extras in there.....

OK...that's it for now.

yes, thanks alot!!

from what I saw of the crank it looked OK, but I will get some pics.

as far as that bolt you saw laying in the pan, that was NOT the bolt from the uptake tube (gotta find that) but, rather, a 1 1/2'' 14mm bolt likely from the previous head gasket repair from TOYOTA waaaaay long time ago. I have to wonder now if it ever was my headgasket or if it was my timing chain back then...doesn't really matter anyway, just can't remember that far back....but timing chain does not ring a bell in regards to that repair.

I'm currently draining the pan outside IE: have it tipped over oozing it's stuff out. Gotta get me some degreaser stuff...forgot that. and then work on getting the FIPG crap off.

A bit of kerosene will do wonders to that goop. Then I'd finish it off with break cleaner.

So that bolt was rattling around in there for what...10 years???

What a mess of pieces parts in that pan. I can't believe there was a bolt sittin in there all that time.

About the smelly hands I understand. You gotta deal with folks and can't be stinky like that.

Honestly I'd just leave the sway bar out or disconnected. Mine is out on the 4Runner and I don't mind much. The body does roll a bit more but I also have runner coils in the back with garbage shocks. The runner is also heavier than the truck so it's going to roll more. I don't think you'll notice it too much. It might be a fresh rebuild soon your still not going to take the off ramps at 90...
