I'f I come down there. I'll have that thing out in less than 20 minutes
I don't want to be regretting anything.

I know I'm getting flamed for being obsessive about this, but that's OK with me.

OK.

Looks like I could remove this bolt rather easily....

These are the motor mounts? Right?.......Not touching, just asking.

Why does it look like this stuff will get crushed if I raise the engine?? I now I'm only supposed to raise it less than an inch as per the FSM, but........

xxxtreme22r...

I can't see how raising it an inch is going to provide me clearance to do anything....and by the looks of it I have just barely more than an inch to raise it.

Wink

You have an auto so there are more wires heading to the tranny than us with the 5spd.

1. Take all the bolts out
2. Unbolt the oil pickup (worry about getting it in later) let it drop in the pan
3. Wiggle it out/attempt to wiggle it out
4. See what it's catching on and remove it/slide it/cut it/persuade it

5. Cuss, swear, cleanup the cuts, tell the wife it's alright and I'll be in shortly (knowing that you will not be)
6. Lift motor and loosen diff mount
7. Wonder why you didn't do that in the first place
8. Come back on here with pictures and a writeup on your latest experence.

Easier than the 10 steps for AA mine only has 8

I would think so you will want them outta the way a bit.
Take your front tires off as well so that the truck isn't as high when you get the stands under there.

make sure you got a pry par set, you gonna need it to get that diff back in. especially the front mount. I didnt realize those wires were there, since you do have an auto, I got the 5sp. Maybe thats why some of us had to drop the diff and some of us hasn't.

I appreciate the honsety man......I believe it wil not be easy.

I'm assuming I shouldn't do anything without the jackstands.

The automatic trans is a concern in this always.......I have fluid lines running where you guys don't......that was one thing I listed as a concern.....I know with so many posts it gets lost......but i remember it all.......that's why there's so much preparation for me. I want ALL the knowledge 1st....then I will wrench.

I thoroughly appreciate everyone's input.

those motor mount bolts you circled are the wrong ones, yes those are the motor mounts, however you want to undo the two on each side that bolt the mount to the frame. If I remember right they are 14mm.
