92 toyota rear Leafs

I recently purchased an extended cab toyota pickup, one of the rear main leafs is broken and i am having a hell of a time finding a replacement, im fine wrenching on it but i do not have the welding skills or ability to weld new hangers or shackle mounts, everyone i talk to about used stock ones says there are to many options and all this. i have a flat bed i plan on putting on it so i really do not care if the axle moves forward or backwards, i can take the driveshaft to a local welding shop to shorten or lengthen it, anyone have any suggestions? btw this is a great site and helped when i did my head gasket and timing chain.

$300 will get you some brand new OME Dakar leafs that net about 2" of lift. pair that up with some BJ spacers and new shocks - you've got yourself a 1.5-2" lift for around $600 and your ride will be MUCH better.

trdparts4u.com is where i got my suspension parts from. they will have everything you need. it's not a cheap solution, but was a good investment for my 16yr old worn out suspension. i think the new shocks are what made a big improvement in ride quality.

what are you not sure of with the OME springs? personally, i love mine. my originals were sagging badly and were pretty much flat. i looked into many options to fix it (junk yard/ add a leaf/ airbags/ new leafs). i decided on OME suspension (minus t-bars) and couldn't be happier. i feel that i have definitely broken them after over a year of driving and about 20+ heavy loads of wood, clay, cinder block, compost, and 6 yards of cobble stones/river rock (i take a half yard at a time and it weights roughly 1400#). right now they sit about 2" higher than stock and give me a very slight rake when empty. after putting in a half yard of rocks, the bed sits pretty much level, maybe slightly lower than the front. one of the things that sold me on the OME leafs is that they seem to keep their arch/height compared to other leafs on the market which are similarly priced. on the trail they seem to flex pretty good but i think droop could be improved by changing around my shock configuration.

if you don't want to spend that kind of money on this, then your cheapest option would be to find some used ones whether it be from a junker or off craigslist or something. either way, you've got a broken leaf and it needs attention asap.

The only thing I was unsure about the old man emu was I could only find them on rocky-road, I'm still trying to figure out more about the truck, I'm coming from haveing a samurai and seems it's a little harder to find parts or these guys
