I don't have much time to type out a long response, since I'm at work lol
There's no such thing as a 2.5" ball joint spacer. The largest is a 1.5" and the extra 1" is from torsion bar cranking, which I don't recommend doing even with a differential drop.
This is the kit I used on my truck and I love it: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Toyota-IFS-Pickup-4Runner-2-5-Front-Lift-Kit-4WD-/270441652053?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&fits=Year%3A1993%7CMake%3AToyota&hash=item3ef7941f55&vxp=mtr

Often talked about for the early IFS is to level the back (get "cargo coils" for your 4runner - no lift), then do the 1.5" BJ spacers but relax the t bars so it goes back down to stock. Then a 2" body lift and 33" inch tires. Rides great, nice and soft in the front with added travel. BL lets you do a drivetrain lift if you want as well. I had this setup on my last 4runner (1995) and it rode awesome - best and cheapest lift in my opinion. A lot of people seem to hate on BL's but I've never had a problem. Your steering will stay at stock angles which is always the best ride for the stock IFS.
My current setup is OME 2" lift, with OME t-bars up front for lift and a diff drop to save the cv's. OME shocks are great but this is much stiffer than what I had on the 95.
