'91 Rear Spring Optiions
Got a '91 Xtra cab 4x4 V6 with a Rancho 3" kit on the front with stock torsions and an add-a-leaf on the rear.
I've always hated the add-a-leaf set-up and now the rear springs are starting to sag out.
What are my options for a 3" soft ride spring that won't break the bank?
Thanks guys...

Are you looking for a new set of springs or can you do some mods?
Downey makes a nice set of 3" lift springs that a few folks on here are running. If you can do some mods then adding coils in the rear is an option.

Kinda trying to do this on the cheap if I can. I can't spend 3 bills on new springs, really.
Is there a softer add-a-leaf set up out there? Maybe a 1" block?
I don't carry any real weight and the truck is primarily highway and trail driven. The lift comes in handy during our winters, mostly. I am a Dialysis patient and have no choice but to get where I need to go, snow be damned!

The Rancho Soft Ride AAL kit is pretty good:
You get 2 pair of leaves in the kit, one longer and thinner and one a little shorter and thicker. You can mix and match those two leaves with your existing leaves to get the ride height and quality you are looking for.

I'd avoid blocks like the plague.
Your best bet would probably be longer shackles, or if you're up for a little fab work then go for 63" chevy springs, either way you'll be getting a couple inches of lift.
