91 4Runner tire size
Hi!
First post here, just got a 91 4Runner yesterday, it has a few things that need addressed, one of them is tires.
The door tag says it takes 225/75 R15's but the selection in that size is dismal. I believe 31X10.5R15 were stock on some of these 4Runners as well. Is there any reason I can't just get tires this size? Or would another size be better, like 235's or 245's? This is going to be our hunting rig. Looking at BFGoodrich All Terrain, we had those on our Jeep Cherokee and liked them quite a bit.
Thanks in advance!
Susie
edited to add the gear ratio is 4.10 according to the door sticker, it's a 4 cylinder manual transmission, thanks

no reason at all you can go to the 31's .
however , factory 4Runners with this size tire had 4:56's or 4:88's (depending on year) gear ratios .
so adding them to your 4Runner with 4:10's will affect final gear ratio .
