90 3vz to a 95 3vz
Well I am swapping a 95 3vz which came from a 95 5spd 4x4 into my 90 2wd auto. I have been seeing some difference in the motor already but was wondering couple things. First, I want to know if the place where you mount the flex plate too is different from thetwo motors? I cant get the turque converter off of my 90 motor. I keep just stripping thebolt when I try. So could I just go buy flex plate for the 95 and will it all work with my tranny?

Well lets be clear, you need to use the torque converter that came with the trans you are planning on using. The converter unbolts off the flexplate. If it doesn't come off, just cut the bolt heads, and extract the remains after you get it apart. Don't try to use the 4WD torque converter if you have a 2WD.
As for the shaft thing the trans shop said, as long as you use the 2WD torque converter in the 2WD trans, it will be the same. Again, same flex plate from 88 through 2002

Cut off wheel? Or you could drill the heads off. You could also cut the outer ring of the flywheel off, then use some vice grips to force the bolts off. They are held on with loc-tite from the factory, so they tend to be a PITA.
