88' truck having some issues
#21
Alright, so im going to try all the possible problems listed above. And I also found out that a knock sensor never really goes bad, it just gets corroded, and you have to change the pigtail.
I am not able to try it now because i took the radiator (to get it rotted and cleaned out) and thermostat (to replace it) out so until I put that all back together ill just have to wait. But if anyone has any more ideas feel free to post.
Thanks for everyones help so far

Ok so I thought i would be able to fix my over heating problem, but i was wrong. i flushed the radiator a bunch, new thermostat and put it all back together. Its still overheating, and boiling....any ideas?

well if the previous owner only put water in, i bet hte inside of your block is rusted out. unless you flushed your entire engine/coolant system, you still have that stuff floating around.
with that said. my engine went around along time like that, and at 185k it now loooks like this http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...t/7c0bb291.jpg

Ok so to everyone who was wondering what was wrong with my truck:
I took it to a shop, and they found water in the oil, they said it looked like chocolate milk. But the compression was fine so it wasnt a blown head gasket. I guess on the 22re engines, the timing cover can wear a hole in it. So that explains why its overheating and why its running like crap.
So i gotta fix that :/

the hole in the timing cover will put coolant in crankcase, wouldn't say it would effect engine running condition or ovrerheat until low level. the timing cover is prob junk, but you may have another issue. just an opinion.

Yeah well wont all the coolant going in to the crankcase leave no coolant running through the cooling system? Which leads to overheating?
And its throwing the knock sensor and TPS code so ill still check those aswell.
