88/89 Speed Sensor - # pules?
OK
The 88/89 era (Gen1 4Runner) had a speed sensor.
But it was built into the instrument cluster, not attached to the xfer case as the later ones were.
Im thinking of going to an aftermarket speedo and the Marlin part is just the ticket.

The FSM for my 4Runner specs the SPD signal as one pulse per 40cm (man is that accurate or what?)
Assuming an OEM tire is 225/75R15 and converting I get
(22.5cm x 0.75 aspect x 2 sidewalls ) + (15in x 2.54cm/in ) = 71.85cm
using pi x d for tie circumference = ~ 225 cm diameter
diving by 40cm I get 5.6 pulse per rev...
Anyone know if that is going to cause problems for the EFI if I take out the cluster and replace it with the Marlin Speedo?
