88 4runner part it out??

A few months ago I ran into a guy at autozone who had just picked up a 88 ifs sr5 22re 4runner $800.00. 3rd gen seat upgrade, cheap paint job, 3" lift, battery swap, wiring kind of chopped up, body solid, ran good, vent window doors. I told him if he thought about selling it to give me a call. He said he was going 2 drive it for about a year to save money then sell it. He just called and said that it overheated about 2 hours from here, and he wanted to get rid of it and not mess with going 2 pick it up. I asked how much he said $1200.00. I am sure that it can be had for about half that. Now here is my problem, if I get it my plan is to strip it. and put all the parts into the 87 pu project we have going on. About the only thing that would be left is some body parts and the frame. Should I chop up a rebuildable runner. or refer it someone that might want to resore it?

Do whatever you want with it. I bought an 87 runner in excellent shape other then the rod through the block and proceeded to rob it of all the useful parts then hacked up what was left and sold it for scrap. Sure I could of rebuilt the thing no problem but I wanted the parts.

It went from this.

To this.
