I just reciently purchased an 88 ex cab 3.0 5 speed yota, I could say im new to the toyota world. I have lots of plans for this truck, I need to get it running right first. Ive been searching these forums since I got the truck on the issues this truck has and have learned a lot. I still have questions for yall gooroos in here. I purchased a chiltons book and might as well piss that $25 away it sucks. Is there something better like the Factory Service manual or even the haynes manual?

I read probably 100 articles on the cold start injector, my truck dosent want to start warm or cold, it will start after 3 or 4 tries and a couple pats of the throttle pedal, and cycling the key a few times. I want to check the fuel pressure cant find a spec or anything for it, it seems like the pump aint building the pressure like it should, the pump sounds funny but does turn on and off with a wire somebody has ran back there for power.

The computer has a code 11, Im in the process of fixing everything the past owner who is no electric guy has done half a$!. Once the truck fires up it runs great has a little hesitation but Im gonna be doing all the regular maint stuff as soon as possiable to see if that goes away. I just want it to start when i hit the key. Im a diesel mechanic for Caterpillar so I have good mechanical sense just dont know much about these gas issues.

Sorry so long hopefully some guys that know way more about these trucks can help me out.

Tapping the throttle has no real effect it's EFi not carb' tech, if it does your air filter is way past due for a change and your throttle body likely needs cleaned up, and your rings might be shot, or perhaps you live in Alaska Cold start proceedure is to just jam the pedal to the floor and hold it.

Code 11 is "Momentary interuption in power supply to ECU", IG Sitch circuit, IG Switch, EFI relay circuit, EFI Relay, or ECU.
