87 pickup. Can I add a passenger side mirror

My truck doesn't have a passenger side mirror. I'd really like to add one. What have you guys done to secure the screws. I was just thinking of using a t-nut.

Any suggestions?

I taught every truck came equipped with side mirrors on both doors, i'd remove the door panel and check from the inside for welded nutserts on the door itself. I'm thinking that the previous owner deleted the pass. side mirror.

No mirror was ever there. I guess when I get ready to do the job I can look for nuts on the inside.

I drilled Holes and used Lock nuts with the window up they were easy to tighten.

Then I like Big Mirrors !!

Must be 15 years or so

Maybe it's an aftermarket door, no pre-drilled holes.

I think you'll get the bolts and nuts when you buy the mirror.

WOW. I'm surprised you guys are saying that the holes should be there. My door sure looks original. Remember. This is a base model truck.

I googled some pics. I saw a few with out a mirror but I don't know there history.
