87 22re a340h...will a 92 v6 a340h fit?!?
So...I've been searching this for months. I have an 87 4runner 22re with an a340h tranny and a 92 v6 with an a340h tranny. Can i put the a340h from the 92 into the 87? I have seen 1 write up from a guy who says he's done it and multiple write ups saying "I don't think so" or "prolly not". In the one write up it says to use certain parts from certain vehicles...here's the write-up: http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/showthread.php?t=872238.
My local gurus have mixed opinions so any info would be amazing!!! Thanks in advance!

different bellhousings
89+ trucks have different connectors so you'll have to change all the wiring pigtails including the neutral safety switch
ect tranny computer (underneath the console trim) will be different, 22re vs 3.0

So, your saying its doable? Just a few electrical changes? I know the bellhousings are different but do the trannys mount the same to the different bellhousings? Thank you sooo much for info! Its been tough getting bits and pieces from others.
