have been trying to find a replacement for this fabled middle hose that is on the stock turbo versions of this truck. It seems to be discontinued by Toyota and I cant find an aftermarket substitute anywhere for the life of me. I have found a few threads about it but they don't seem to provide much help at all as to a way bypass the hose correctly or where to find a new one. any help would be greatly appreciated.
I think you're gonna need to get creative.
One possibility. Rather than a single rubber hose, maybe two hoses connected with a metal "Tee" like this:
What would be even better, but would take some work and fabrication, would be a metal pipe that has the same bend as the hose pictured. then have the smaller pipe welded on the bend. If it's done right then you'd only need two short sections of rubber hose to connect your new pipe to the system.
yeah, I was thinking the same. have seen a bunch of fittings that might work but havent found a soild one i know will yet. was kinda hoping someone had already had and delt with this problem so i dont have to do as much of the foot work. fabbing up a metal one would be ideal though because I wouldn't have to replace it again. wonder where I would find someone to do that kind of work?
Muffler shops usually have tube benders. If the size is close to something they regularly use they might be able to do it in stainless steel.
What's the O.D. of the pipe that rubber hose slides onto?
I have an 86 Turbo 4Runner- this hose is the holy grail-there are none available. Fortunately, mine was in pretty good shape.
As I recall, the ends are two different diameters, and the hose itself has a bit of an off-center radius to it.
I think that there might be interest from some of us (stock turbo owners) to do a group buy if someone could fabricate them.
Without info there's not much anyone can do to help except provide a part number for something already discontinued.
But maybe with O.D. of the three pipes that this hose connects to, the overall length of the hose when stretched out, and the distance from the approx. center of the two main connections something can be devised.
Finding a replacement for the discontinued middle coolant hose on the 86 Turbo can be tough. Consider custom fabrication, universal hoses with fittings. I checked out https://lastminutewriting.com/ for my research paper, and they did a fantastic job. The writer was knowledgeable, and the paper was well-structured and thorough. The service was efficient, and the paper was delivered ahead of the deadline. The quality of the work was exceptional, and I was very pleased with the final product. I will definitely use their service again for any future writing needs.
This is a picture of one for reference if that helps at all
Any update?

update! sorry it has been quite some time. ended up pulling the engine to do a rebuild at local shop that let me do all the labor. still a lot of little things that need to be done to get her cherry but she runs again! really wish i would have documented it but was in a hurry to get it done. we ended up fabricating a middle section out of aluminum, tig welding a bung on to it and running a AN fitting to the heater hose. the two sides of the "U" shape where made out of some nice silicone hoses. will get some pictures up when i get a chance. looks a little janky but it does the job like a dream
I dunno about janky, that looks a lot more solid than the oem hose. Nice work!
I was looking for some fittings yesterday and ran across this site.
Maybe for future reference Formed cooling system pipes

Why thank you kind sir, I was pretty proud of it but the welds are pretty thick. I didn't want any leaks. It's been holding up great and the kids really enjoy having a heater when we putt around.
Oh man thanks again that's wonderful I'll have to bookmark this for later projects!
