86 Rear Window Stopped Working

just bought an 86 runner, runs great. when i was at the guys house the rear window worked fine, but when i got it home it does nothing. i can't lower the tail gate with the window up. any ideas?

is the wiper all the way up on its cradle?? If not, put it there and try to roll it down then.. If it is check the motor by pulling off the rear panel, jump a few wires from a battery straight to the motor harness, if it goens up simply switch the wires to the other prongs, that will atleast tell you if its your motor or not and will get your window down as a temp fix....

it won't unlock either, but the wiper works fine

The whole things broken. Its going to fall apart into a pile a bolts and sheetmetal any minute now. Give me your address and I'll swing by to take it off your hands.

Is the rear window lock button pushed in, by mistake this has happend to me

ha I was about to ask if the tail gate was closed all the way my runner you have to push in the tail gate to get it to close all the way.

Same thing happened to me, but the tailgate latch wouldn't catch so I just shorted the switch wires in the harness...sure my back door light doesn't work now, but at least I can close my window.
