86 Pickup Vent Window

My vent window on the driver's side won't stay open when the truck is going at faster speeds. The wind will force it closed.
The points at where the window pivots is very loose. Is there a bolt that I can tighten so the vent window will stay open or is there an easy fix for this?

Mine's a 94 but I was looking at my vent windows this morning. We call em "wind wings." Looks like they rely on friction and stiffness to stay open. But the only way I figure they can be tightened is to remove the wind wing and carefully bend down the triangular piece on top that the wing wing mounts to. However, I can't see an easy way to remove those little wings. Perhaps talk to a mechanic or refer to a service manual?

I love the wind wings. I'm guessing Toyota stopped making them because it's cheaper to just have one full window. The wind wings are nice to have!

On the bottom of the vent window is a nut and spring for tension, you can tighten down the nut a little to tighten up the tension. The door panel has to come off.

Well - I learned something. Thank you for the education, FULLY CLOTHED Runner. I knew there had to be a better way than bending metal. :-)

What years had a wind wing X-cab 4X4

I replaced my 1991 X-cab 4X4 passenger door due to cancer with a door that has a wing. Need to get a better side mirror. What years had wind wings? I see a 94 does. What others? Thanks!
