86 4runner transmission question
I have a 86 4runner with a auto transmission. I am replacing the throttle/kickdown cable. I have the cable loose on the topside off the intake and have gotten the single bolt out that attaches it to the transmission, but how do you get the cable out? It is obviously hooked to something in there, do I have to drop the pan to get to it?

From: Nashville TN. I can help you if you're close BUT NOBODY CAN HELP YOU IF YOU DON'T FILL YOUR LOCATION IN!
Have you looked at an FSM or Chiltons manual?
Here's another place you can look: http://www.google.com/search?q=remov...-8&sa=N&tab=iw
Sorry I can't help, my AT trucks are not here right now.

Why do you need to replace the shift cable, did it break ?.

had a bit of a fire and it got kinda crispy. Although thinking back never really had a kickdown before so maybe it was messed up already. Working on replaceing vacuum lines as well, tough time finding ones that actually fit tight.

totally my fault, didn't have the fuel line completley tight after changing fuel filter. I know I checked it at least twice, but really doesn't matter now. Got it running again and dropped the pan and removed the cable. Still have a few vacuum line questions on where they go.
