86 4runner packages(options)

i went to a junkyard the other day and they had a 1986 4unner there. my dad believes it has the sr5 package but it has an automactic trans mission in it. so we were wondering did toyota also make a sr5 auto? and also did they put electronic gauges(speedo, fuel, water temp., etc) on 1986 4runners?

thanks
ps im kinda new to yotatech.

It sounds like you found a turbo 4runner they are SR5, automatics, and have digital dashes.

My friend has an 86 Turbo 4runner. It is an SR5 with an auto tranny. If it is an actual turbo and its not too far gone Id get it.

ok thanks. most of the frontend, the motor, interior, and little parts where gone. only things left was the body, frame, rear axle, transmission/transfercase, top, and wiring.
since it is possibly a sr5 automatic is the transmission different from a regular transmission?

Transmission code is on the ID plate, whatever it is, not sure what they came with or how to tell if it's the matching original.

Wiring should be plug and play for the gauge, highly coveted in some circles
