Hey guys, first post, so hello everyone!

I'm new to this, it's likely that I have a lot to learn, and have many misunderstandings. I've had an 86' 4runner for almost a year now. I believe that the previous owner installed the Rancho Add-a-leafs, but am looking to confirm. I also believed that he installed them incorrectly. Could you please help me identify what to do here?

I have attached a photo album below.

The right side is the leaf-spring re-assembly I performed yesterday. Putting what I believe to be the Add-a-leaf above the stock bottom helper spring... Where as on the left side (the previous installation) it is below the bottom helper spring, and causing a drastic sag.

Are any of these assumptions correct? Which is the right way to re-assemble my leafs?

yes, i think you are correc that the right side spring is set up correctly with the overload spring being on the bottom of the spring back.

that being said, Toyota hasn't gotten rear springs right in 4runner's since day one and they all have a saggy butt. They even had a recall for rear springs on my 05 tacoma.

Your springs are pretty much beat, i would recommend replacing them with some like a set of OME (old man EMu)
or you can band aid it and search the Zuk Mod...some people have reported good results on it...tons of threads on it.

 

Thanks dropzone! I was searching for the OME springs earlier today, without any luck. Do you have a link that could point me in the right direction?
