So i swaped a 22re from an 86 p/u into my 85. And one of the reasons its not passing the referee inspection is because my "check engine" light does NOT come on. Which i thought was a really weird thing to be looking for but anyways i hoped and prayed it was just the bulb in the cluster. Checked that today and the bulb IS comming on when hooked up directly to the battery. So im at a stand still as to what to check next. Is there a bad wire somewhere? Does anyone know of the next thing to check?

How bout use the KISS and just say RE to RE so as to avoid any confusion?

Is the 85 factory RE? B/c otherwise I have to ask...
