85 4Runner problems..... Please Help

85 4Runner.

Rear door light will not go out on Dash.
Rear window rocker switch will not work both ways.
I have tested the wiring from the switch to the door and is all good.
Is their a relay in between the 2 i have scoured it back and forth.

Any ides's .......

Sounds like one of the safety switches is compromised. Check for corroded wires. Have you had the top off? There's a safety for that, too. And for the rear wiper, if you have one.

Inspect your Door Lock Detection switch and wiring to it. Might be stuck or not actuating properly. That wud be the switch with three terminals and follows door lock switch movement.
Pin 1 should always be connected to ground.
When door is locked:
Pin 3 has continuity to Pin1, hence to ground.
Pin 2 should have no continuity to Pin1, hence not grounded.

Laws are there to protect us. The laws of probability are on your side today

Given your symptoms, it is unlikely that two relays, plus a detection switch and/or its wires went bad at the same time.

Check the "top off" switch in the cargo area. I think it is under the second top bolt from the back on the driver's side behind the panel. When the top is off (or that bolt is removed) the switch will not allow the rear window to move. You may have a bad ground or bad switch.
