84 parts on an 86?
I really didn't want to go this route but I'm looking down the barrel of an 84 SR5 4runner that's been rolled. The motor still runs and it's driveable just ugly. Straight axles, 6" lift etc. and the price is really really good. So since it's available I'll be able to do an SAS without bying a lot of aftermarket stuff that I can't afford. Will the 84 stuff all bolt on?
So other than the axle/lift/tires/wheels/steering stuff what will I need to pull off of this thing to do the swap?
Oh and this is a great time to pull the t-case and do my duals.
Anyone going to need a 22r and tranny?

Not a bolt on swap by any means, here si likely one of the first documented swaps from 11 years ago:

You may want to pop for a crossover steering kit to let you keep the IFS steering box with the '86 frame and adapt the '84 axle to work with it. Also if you go that route, you'll need about 4" of lift up front to have room for the steering over the springs.

Thanks 4crawler. I just talked to the guy and it's got a 6" Skyjacker kit on it. The only things I'd actually be getting off the rig is the front axle, steering stuff, lift kit and t-case.
