7.5" IFS interchangeability question...

Quick question, I have a line on an IFS diff that has 5.29's already installed in it that came out of a '90 V6 truck. Does anyone see any reason that wouldn't work ok in my '95 22re 5 speed truck?

It would be a whole lot cheaper and easier than having 5.29's installed in the one I have, and I'd have a spare.

Will work fine. All the IFS diffs from '86 to 95.5 are the same.

Is it the one on TTORA with a Detroit?

Only difference could be ADD vs. non, I'm not totaly sure on that aspect. Everything else same 4cyl or V6.

I figured as much...

I saw the one on TTORA but if memory serves the guy wanted too much for it so I kept browing. I found one on Pirate 4x4 for $150 shipped. I can't get mine set up for that...

Thanks for the link.

That's what I was thinking too... According to the link though they're all swappable so I'm going to get it and see for myself.

All the differences between ADD and non are built into the diff too. As long as you get the entire chunk uncluding the stub axles, it'll go right in.

Do your wheel hubs lock, externally twist on/off? If no, you have ADD. Somebody here has the scoop on how to tell by another method. But that's what I know, for sure.

This site has a good pic of the difference. Viola! Notice the vacuum diaphram(ADD) vs. none on non-
ADD

I'm pretty sure all second gens (90-95) had ADD, but might be mistaken...
